12 days left

So far, I’ve:

  • decluttered the kitchen counters (but not cabinets)
  • cleaned out the family room and and cleaned the room, including vacuuming all upholstered furniture
  • purged Bean’s room and made room for an extra bed
  • cleaned out half her closet (the other half has boxes too heavy for me to lift in my ‘condition’ - read, ‘pregnancy’)

The big projects I still have to do in the next 12 days are:

  • Clean out Little Man’s room and closet
  • Clean out the guest room
  • Make about 12 trips to Goodwill with full car-loads of stuff
  • Reorganize the kids’ outgrown clothes

Sure, there are about a zillion other things that need to be done, but these are the big ones that absolutely have to be done before the in-laws arrive. If I don’t finish the rest in time, at least I can do them after they get here, while they play with the kids!

Somebody help me!

In 15 days (but who’s counting?) my in-laws are moving in. That means we’ll be adding 2 full-grown adults to our home. With their stuff. And some extra furniture.

So I have 15 days (but who’s counting?) to re-organize all my closets, clean out all the clutter from the house, and make room for 2 new adults. That said, let me just tell you. My. house. is. cluttered. Especially after the last 2 months (consisting of Liam’s tumor and the Great Plague of 2007). For nearly 2 months, nothing has been put away, nothing has been thrown away, and nothing has been given away. I don’t even have summer clothes put away!
Surely someone out there is an organizing guru and can tell me how to put my home in order. Quick. Ideas? Anyone? Don’t make me beg.

No. 3 is gonna do me in

So. I’m pregnant. With baby #3. I’m only at 17 weeks. At this point in the pregnancy I should be feeling some little butterfly flutters in my belly. Butterflies. But instead, this baby is waging a war against my ribcage.

This kid’s gonna be an athlete.
