The blog crush meme

I’m not usually one to participate in memes but I’ve been tagged. And seeing as how it’s always good to play well with others (even in the bloggy world), I’m game. Everyday Mommy tagged me with this one, inspired by a post at Days to Come.  So here goes. (ahem, revealing way more than I otherwise would)

1. What was the first blog you read? The first blog I ever read was Owlhaven. She seemed to have it all – a great (huge) family, an abiding faith, and the wisdom to make it all work, peppered with the right amount of humor.

2. Do you still read that blog? Yep, I still comment sometimes too.

3. Do you have a blog crush, in other words, is there a blogger you’d love to meet? Now did you have to ask this? It’d have to be Everyday Mommy – who actually tagged me with this, and designed my fantastically gorgeous header, both of which absolutely befuddled me – why would someone as cool as EDMommy ever pick someone like little ol’ me? (will i ever live this down? i ask as i meekly crawl underneath the table) She has some fantastic posts that inspire great discussion. And she has this way of making the truth clear, driving the point home without leaving a trail of casualties behind her. I don’t know how she does it, but I have a lot to learn.

4. Upon meeting would you crumble and mumble under the pressure, blurt out something incoherent, or blush madly? Most certainly. I’d probably make some overzealous attempt to impress her with my Reformed theological prowess, only revealing in the process my own foolishness… It’d be bad.

5. If you could have a long, leisurely lunch with one blogger whom you’ve never met, who would it be? I think it would have to be Sandy at 4 Reluctant Entertainers. I think she’s exactly where I’d like to be in 5-10 years. She has all kinds of wisdom about raising Godly children, and about what matters most in life. She inspires me to push the limits of my domesticity and become the gracious hostess I truly wish to become. (and I’m so not there yet)

So that’s it for me. Now it’s someone else’s turn in the hotseat. And to that end, I hereby tag Deanna at Always Read the Manual, Megan at Half Pint House, and Amy Jane at Untangling Tales. (Is that enough? Is that how these things work? I told you I’m new to this meme thing…) Did I play well with others?

    Oh, gee thanks! No pressure!

Just kidding ;) That’s a very high compliment and one which I hope I can live up to.

Why don’t we get together for supper?

Get together? Are you kidding? You’re my blog hero! I’d stumble over my tongue and make an idiot of myself! (Of course, that would give you some good stories to blog about…)

Well… I don’t do memes at Untangling Tales (you can see some at my Snow Fairy though…), but I honestly don’t have enough answers for this meme other than the first blog I read was a girlfriend I knew as a kid– and getting my own spot in order to comment got me started enough to get hooked and get my own domain.

Who woulda thunk? I needed a new hobby… really.

(I hope this doesn’t count as playing poorly with others….)
